Thursday, November 18 between 12h and 14h: Lunch Like No Other: Child Soldiers: What Future?
Organised in partnership with UNICEF-Essonne, in the framework of the International Solidarity Week.
According to UNICEF, 250,000 children are still exploited in armed conflicts around the world. These are as many girls as boys, some as young as 7 years, used as combatants, but also as spies, grooms, porters, cooks, messengers or exploited for sexual purposes. Why are these armed groups of children they enroll? Which countries are still child soldiers? What programs associations and government exist to save them? How, once rescued from armed groups, to reconcile these children with a family, social?
Speaker: Henry Leblanc, Programme Officer UNICEF France (subject) Or Mireille Bernard, in charge of UNICEF advocacy committee
